Better late than never.

To answer your question: Yes and No.
Yes you can create a pedal with the MSP-EXP430G2ET.
No it is not a direct repalcement for the Arduino Uno. The arduino and launchpad boards are different so you will need a to make a knew shield or cape or a board that takes MSP-EXP430G2ET the 20-pin IC.

I recently started trying to create something similar for the msp430g2553.
Why? 1) I like the msp430 2) the board is just 9.99+shipping if you buy it from TI 3)I like code composer better than the Arduino IDE 4) hobby, just for fun.

How's the progress? Well I get the input signal gets recreated and sent out, but so far is very noisy. I simply created a 1st order LPF with parts I had. I am also using an mp3 player instead of my guitar because the signal from the guitar is too weak and it needs to be amplify.

Hi, as Jota mentioned, if you just use the codes that we wrote for the pedalSHIELD UNO directly over the MSP-EXP430G2ET.
The MSP-EXP430G2ET its an interesting platform but you would need to "port" the codes from one platform to the other...
