Pedal-Pi Bass pedal?

6 years 1 month ago #1294 by ZippyBear
I've been wondering if the Pedal-Pi/Pedal shield can handle bass tones. I'd like to make an electric bass sound more like an upright. Is this possible on the pedal-pi/ shield.

Hi, yes pedal-pi can work with bass guitars without problems.

At the beginning of the circuit, there is a high pass filter created by C1 (100nF) and R1 (1M) (www.electrosmash.com/media/kunena/attach...dal-pi-schematic.png) that removes frequencies below (1/2xpixRxC) 1.5Hz.

For C1, we usually prefer to use a 470nF cap instead of the 100nF cap so the bass response is better (only removing low freqs below 0.15Hz). If you place an order from us just let me know in the order comments and we will include this cap (for free) and if you are building it by yourself you can use the mouser part number 581-SR215E474MAR on any similar cap.
