I'm intending to pick up the PedalSHIELD kit & a Duo to start working with the software, but I had a couple questions while I gather knowledge until I can obtain all of the pieces.
I noticed there aren't any equalizer/compressor pre-made tools yet. Is the Arduino capable of reading the input signal to make its changes (as would be necessary for a compressor)? I haven't read all of the threads written so far (and I'm still figuring out what everything even means!), so if this is somewhere I haven't looked let me know
The other question I have is, can the Arduino detect such things as multiple-taps on the stomp-switch or long-presses? Alternatively, can I modify the mix switch to suit my needs?
Also, does the PedalSHIELD need to be plugged into a computer to function, or will the microUSB run just from a power source such as a wall adapter?

Edit: I had another question about the capabilities of the PedalSHIELD in cpu capacity. How much code could I theoretically "stuff" into the Arduino board nbefore I would be able to detect latency in my audio processing?

No, there are not equalizer/compressor pedals so far. I reckon that Arduino is able to do this changes.
I will play with some codes and try to upload a compressor example.

- When you press the footswitch, the true bypass will connect the guitar signal to the output and Arduino wont be able to read the signal, so I think that it is not possible to do multiple taps with the stomp-switch.
- The mix switch has a fixed function (blend the original and the modified signal) but you can adapt the additional free switch to your ideas.

If you are sampling at 48KHz, you can code around 2000 instructions between samples.
