Possible Broken Foot Switch

5 años 8 meses antes #1478 por Pupsi
Hi,

I've recently finished building my Pedalshield Due and have not yet gotten it to work properly. I get a signal through the pedal but only for a very short moment when the footswitch is pushed down. Otherwise, there is no signal. I have attached a video to help describe my problem:

Since a signal is able to pass through at a certain point I'm suspecting the issue is with the footswitch itself and needs to be replaced? Forgive me if I'm missing the point entirely or I've made a stupid error, I have no prior experience in electronics.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, the 3PDT switches are pretty sturdy and difficult to break, but once in a while you can get a defective one.

The best way to confirm that it is broken is to use a multimeter (I am not sure if you have one), You can check continuity between the pins and they should be linked like this:

The middle pins are connected to the top or to the bottom pins "depending on the click"

Please let me know about your progress
