Using 1 pot of different value

8 years 2 weeks ago #453 by rm77
Hello, I am new to the forum and am excited to have my pedalSHIELD kit on the way! I read in the "Bill of Materials and Alternatives" post that pots of any value can be used in the project. I just want to confirm my understanding that pots of different values can be substituted with no other alterations needed, and also, that the pots need not even be of the same value. (e.g., two could be 10k and the third 100k). Is this correct? I ask because I am hoping to substitute a particular type of pot I already have in place of one of the standard project pots.

Hi, yes you can use two pots of 10K and the third 100K. Arduino just sees a voltage divider, the resistor value is not critical.
It will work.
